La Leche League Great Britain is an organisation
of mothers who have breastfed their own babies and wish to pass on help
and information to others wishing to breastfeed. La
Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organisation
dedicated to providing support, encouragement, information, and
education to women who want to breastfeed. It is a registered
charity affiliated to la Leche League International - the world’s
largest source of breastfeeding information.
La Leche League Leaders
LLL Leaders are mothers who have breastfed their own babies and are
accredited by La Leche League International. They provide information
and support by phone and lead discussion meetings for mothers. They are
unpaid volunteers in their own homes.
Membership
Membership of La Leche League Great Britain costs £25 per year
(unwaged families £15) of which a proportion helps to finance your
local group (to buy more books for the library or for stamps and
leaflets to help more mothers). Members have use of our LLL library and
receive a bimonthly newsletter (Breastfeeding Matters) containing stories, articles and
research for the breastfeeding family. Ask your local leader for an
application form and join through your local group.
